What to Include
- The email address used to sign in to BasketTrainer.
- Whether you want full account deletion or deletion of specific data only.
- If relevant, your team, trainer, or club name so we can find team-created guest records.
- A statement that you are the account owner or, for a guest athlete record, the authorized parent/guardian or organization contact.
Identity Verification
We may ask you to verify control of the account email or provide additional information before deleting data. This protects player, trainer, team, health, journal, and payment-related data from unauthorized deletion.
Automated in-app deletion requires a recent sign-in with the linked password, Google, or Apple provider. If Sign in with Apple is linked, BasketTrainer also revokes the associated Apple authorization as part of the tracked deletion operation. On iOS and web, the backend verifies the fresh Apple authorization against the linked identity before revocation. On Android, the Firebase client revocation must complete after a fresh Apple sign-in before the backend can continue. Passwords, access tokens, and one-time provider authorization codes are not retained as deletion records.
Guest Athlete Records
BasketTrainer direct accounts are limited to people aged 13 or older. A younger athlete may be represented only by a coach-, club-, school-, team-, or guardian-managed guest profile without a direct login. An authorized adult or organization contact may request deletion or correction of that guest athlete record. We will verify the requester's authority and consider any duties of the organization that controls the team record before acting on the request.
What We Delete or Anonymize
For eligible account deletion requests, we delete or anonymize data associated with the BasketTrainer account where no legal or operational exception applies. This can include:
- profile, role, preference, and sign-in mapping data;
- player/trainer assignments and invite tokens;
- training library, assigned plans, workout records, testing data, and body-composition form data;
- chat, journal entries, voice notes, attachments, and generated exports;
- device push tokens and notification preferences;
- public trainer profile and public plan pages owned by the deleted account, where applicable.
What May Be Retained
Some information may be retained when necessary for legal, accounting, payment, dispute, fraud-prevention, safety, backup, security, or legitimate operational reasons. Examples include:
- payment and accounting records required by law or payment providers;
- security logs, abuse-prevention logs, or crash diagnostics for a limited period;
- records needed to resolve disputes, chargebacks, legal claims, or store/platform obligations;
- backup copies until the backup cycle expires;
- team, coach, or player records that belong to another controller or organization and cannot be deleted by a single user's request.
When retained records contain an account identifier, we restrict and pseudonymize that identifier where the purpose allows it. A minimal deletion-operation record is kept so an interrupted request can be retried and so BasketTrainer does not incorrectly repeat or report the operation. An incomplete operation is scheduled for retention for at least 365 days while it remains recoverable. After confirmed completion, the record is minimized, direct account identifiers are removed, and the remaining one-way account key and operation evidence are scheduled to expire after 180 days. Infrastructure time-to-live deletion may occur after the scheduled expiry time.
Service Provider Deletion
Where we use service providers to process your data, we will request deletion of relevant data from those providers where applicable and where the provider relationship and law allow it.
Expected Timing
The in-app flow starts a tracked operation immediately and shows pending, running, blocked, failed, or completed status. BasketTrainer reports the account as deleted only after all mandatory automated steps finish. If a temporary failure or a required retention decision prevents completion, the status remains recoverable and does not claim deletion. Email and other GDPR requests are handled within the timelines required by applicable law unless an extension or legal exception applies.
In-app Deletion
On iPhone and Android, open Settings → Delete account. On the authenticated web app, open User settings → Danger zone → Delete account. Confirm the permanent action and complete the requested recent sign-in. Keep the app open while it prepares and finalizes the operation. If the response is interrupted, reopen the same deletion screen and refresh or retry the recorded operation after signing in again. The public page remains available to people who have uninstalled the app, cannot access their account, or want to request deletion of selected data without deleting the whole account.
